Birthday — Get the milestone right.

The pieces that make turning a year older feel like an occasion worth marking.

I'm not interested in birthday dressing that screams *birthday*. No sequins at lunch. No dress you'll photograph once and retire. What I want is the opposite: pieces so good they reset your baseline. The Khaite Merith Dress in cream and red does this — it's got that handkerchief hem that moves when you do, a surplice neckline that doesn't need explaining. You'll wear it in June and again in December with the Brieta Cardigan, which is cut from Merino so fine it doesn't bulk under a coat. The Manhattan Sandal in bordeaux glazed leather is the kind of shoe that makes you rethink wedges entirely. Architectural buckle, Italian-made, a colour that works harder than black ever could. Then there's the Dylan Top — in chalk or heather grey, depending on whether you're feeling like summer or not. Washable Japanese silk. Designed to drape away from the body, which means it's flattering without trying. I'd wear it with the Bonnie Jean in Holbrook, which sits low on the hip and has that dropped rise that reads effortless, not studied. The Totême Everyday tops in ecru and black are here because sometimes the best gift is multiples of the thing that works. Cap sleeves, elongated fit, fluid jersey. You know the drill. Chloé Eau de Parfum rounds it out — 30ml is the right size, always. What you wear on your birthday should feel like the beginning of something, not the peak.
